~Why is archery popular today in the U.S.?~
In the U.S., archery is popular today
because of the impact of a movie called The Hunger Games has young
people in a craze.
This movie is a film of a novel, and the
novel’s name is the same as the movie. This movie’s main character is a female
teenager, and her name is Katniss. In
the movie, this character was strong, brave, intelligent, beautiful, and popular.
So, many children, especially girls, started to pretend to be like her.
Katniss’s ability is archery. For this reason, many people started to shoot
bows.
Another reason for its popularity is, archery
is a sport, but compared to other sports, it is a less physical sport. Also
archery is played by one person, so it is an independent event. There for, you
can practice when you’re free, you don’t have to go to practice together with
others. Also due to the effect of The Hunger Games, many children
started archery, and it became a family sport, it may bring together fathers
and daughters. This year, it is also an Olympic year, so that might be the
multiplier effect of the popularity of archery.
These are the reasons why archery got
popular in the U.S.
